3 Steps to Fairer Skin

Fairness is an important factor to beauty, especially in the Asian context. By that, we mean getting a lighter skin shade. Read on for the 3-step process of getting and maintaining fairer skin.

Step 1: Sun Protection

We all know about the dangers of UV exposure – it is the main cause of photo-aging and pigmentation. Sun exposure triggers melanin production, which causes skin to darken in order to protect against further sun damage. Prolonged sun-damage can cause hyper-pigmentation, a condition where melanin production goes into overdrive, causing permanent dark patches on skin.

In order to prevent this from happening, effective sun protection is necessary. Choose a sunblock that has an SPF (Sun Protection Factor) of at least 15 if you are mostly indoors and deskbound, if you are outdoors often, you will need a sunblock with higher SPF and effective UVA protection. Step 2: Home Care

In order to maintain your skin’s fairness and to reverse any signs of damage incurred during the day, use a good whitening product in your skincare regime at home.

A good choice is the Phyris Vitamin C Cream and Vitamin C Complex. These products are suitable for all skin types, and helps restore moisture, freshness and energy to the skin while effecting a gentle “whitening effect” on regular use.

Step 3: Professional maintenance

Even with regular home care, your fairness regime deserves a boost every once in a while with a professional treatment. A facial helps to rid clogged pores with thorough cleansing, while stimulating your skin’s microcirculation for a fresher, rosier, and more radiant look. A facial like Lark’s Diamond Peel Facial can help to remove dead skin cells for a fairer, more radiant look. Do it once a month to keep skin looking fresh and young!
