3 Steps to Fairer Skin

Fairness is an important factor to beauty, especially in the Asian context. By that, we mean getting a lighter skin shade. Read on for the 3-step process of getting and maintaining fairer skin.

Step 1: Sun Protection

We all know about the dangers of UV exposure – it is the main cause of photo-aging and pigmentation. Sun exposure triggers melanin production, which causes skin to darken in order to protect against further sun damage. Prolonged sun-damage can cause hyper-pigmentation, a condition where melanin production goes into overdrive, causing permanent dark patches on skin.

DIY Saturdays: your very own cinderella worthy foot soak!

Take a moment to think about our most dependable mode of transport. Our feet! Many of us zip about each day, spending hours standing, walking or torturing our feet in towering heels. And yet we’re usually so busy we hardly get time to fit in a massage to soothe our aching bodies (and feet). That’s when a foot soak comes in handy. It’s easy to prepare, and a relaxing soak once a week can help to relieve tired feet and bodies, soothe rheumatic aches and pains and increase our circulation. Afterall, those familiar with the theory of foot reflexology will know that our feet is a map to the rest of our body, so pampering them is a way of pampering the rest of our body as well!

Designers’ take on Singapore

A Singapore related post, to honor our nation’s coming birthday:

We were surfing around online and came across these posts by designers Henry Holland and Wes Gordon on their experiences here during their visit during the Audi Fashion Festival this year.

Henry Holland seemed to have gotten a rather… erm… red tan during his time here.

Wes Gordon though, sounded suitably impressed. He even had time to try the “Singaporean national dish: chili crab with mantou” during his stay here.

And his verdict:

“Delicious—but unbelievably messy”

Once upon a time

We came across these gorgeous fairy tale themed accessories by the talented Tongatwork.

drive me pendant by tongatwork

Pay homage to your fairy tale fantasies with a pastel carriage pendant, or let loose your inner Princess with the beautiful Blushing Blooms necklace – our favourite!

By the way, this lovely and talented crafter is from Singapore, so we’re guessing you can save on shipping charges if you do order from her. :)

If you’re wondering the best way to wear these pretty trinkets, we’d recommend pairing them with beautiful skin -a glowy and radiant complexion with just a hint of Color Minerals Shimmer Blusher (in Pink Dolphin), so as to show them off to the best effect!
